🤭Representation in our filmmmmm🤭
HEYYYYY GUYYYYSSSSS…TODAY WE’RE GOING TO TALK ABOUT REPRESENTATION…
Within our film, we aimed to represent a diverse range of characters, reflecting the richness and complexity of society and our school. As the movie opener takes place in a school setting. We strive to portray individuals from various backgrounds, cultures, and experiences, ensuring that our cast is inclusive and representative of the world we live in. (I am mixed of Bahamian and Russian, and Fernando is Ecuadorian) Our goal is to avoid falling into stereotypes and instead present characters as multifaceted individuals with depth and nuance. By doing so, we hope to challenge traditional notions of representation and offer a more authentic and inclusive portrayal of humanity.
To challenge representation within our film, we actively seek to subvert stereotypes and tropes commonly associated with certain groups. We approach each character with care and consideration, avoiding lazy or one-dimensional portrayals. Instead, we aim to highlight the diversity of human experiences and identities, celebrating the complexities of each individual. Through nuanced storytelling and character development, we strive to challenge preconceived notions and promote empathy and understanding. We would add more diversity if given more time and more resources.
