🎼SOUNDDDDDDDD🎼

HEYYYYY YALLLLLL…TODAY WERE GOING TO BE TALKING ABOUT SOUND!

I worked with Makayla and Fernandidito to create the sounds for our movie opener, here is what we did:

We collaborated closely as a team to ensure a cohesive and impactful audio experience. First, we conducted a thorough review of the project's script and storyboard to understand the narrative flow and emotional beats. Then, we divided tasks among team members based on their expertise and strengths. Fernandidito focused on capturing and editing diegetic sounds, such as footsteps, dialogue, and environmental noises, using professional recording equipment and software like iMovie . And Makayla Wayla handled non-diegetic sound elements, including background music, sound effects, and voiceovers, utilizing a combination of licensed audio libraries and original compositions created with digital audio workstations.

Our choices regarding diegetic and non-diegetic sound were driven by the narrative and aesthetic goals of the project. Diegetic sounds were carefully selected and edited to enhance realism and immerse the audience in the on-screen world. We paid close attention to the spatial placement and timing of these sounds to create a sense of depth and presence. Non-diegetic elements, such as music and sound effects, were strategically integrated to complement the storytelling and evoke specific emotions in the audience. We experimented with different musical styles, tempos, and instrumentation to find the perfect audio that resonated with the project's tone and themes. Overall, our goal was to create a dynamic audio mix that enhanced the visual storytelling and engaged the audience on a sensory level.
