🎼SOUNDDDDDDDD🎼

Image
HEYYYYY YALLLLLL…TODAY WERE GOING TO BE TALKING ABOUT SOUND! I worked with Makayla and Fernandidito to create the sounds for our movie opener, here is what we did:      We collaborated closely as a team to ensure a cohesive and impactful audio experience. First, we conducted a thorough review of the project's script and storyboard to understand the narrative flow and emotional beats. Then, we divided tasks among team members based on their expertise and strengths. Fernandidito focused on capturing and editing diegetic sounds, such as footsteps, dialogue, and environmental noises, using professional recording equipment and software like iMovie . And Makayla Wayla handled non-diegetic sound elements, including background music, sound effects, and voiceovers, utilizing a combination of licensed audio libraries and original compositions created with digital audio workstations.      Our choices regarding diegetic and non-diegetic sound were driven by the narrati...

Day 1 of shooting

Image
HEYYYYYYYYYYYYY soooooo today we had to start filming for the first time anddddd it went ok here’s my little run down of what went down:  Stepping onto the set for the first day of shooting for "48th Court" filled me with a mix of nerves and excitement. Months of planning, from casting to scouting locations, had led to this moment. The air was charged with anticipation as the crew worked diligently to set up each scene, striving to capture the essence of our youthful storyline. Watching my fellow teenage actors bring their characters to life was both surreal and incredibly gratifying, as if the script had leaped off the page and into reality before my eyes. However, the first day of shooting also brought its own set of challenges. From technical hiccups to unexpected changes in lighting, we encountered obstacles that tested our resolve and problem-solving skills. Despite the setbacks, we never wavered, fueling our determination to overcome any hurdles that came our way. With...

SUPPORTING CHARACTERS

Image
HEEEEEYYYYYYY I’m back agin to talk about the supporting characters in our movie opener!      Ok so basically there are two main supporting characters throughout the film, we have: Fernandidito who is going to be playing as Miguel and Cheif who will be playing as himself. Fernandos character is more of a sports type athlete, and as explained in my blog post on color use I wen’t more in depth about his character but he is an active dude and also socially reserved. Both Miguel and my character are main characters but I thought it would be good to mention him in this blog post.      Moving on we have cheif, who in real life is a very stand up guy and very fun and nice to have as a teacher and coach. But in the film Cheif is supposed to be an ahorita figure that the supporting characters are scared of. (I’m no saying cheif isn’t an authority figure in real life because he is). But the characters in our film are supposed to be supper scared of him for come...

BECON TV

Image
HELLLOOOOOOO, in this blog post, I want to share about a recent special presentation at our school featuring a speaker from BEACON TV! Just before this post went up, we had a speaker visit from BEACON TV, covering various topics in film and movie production. Now at first I had no idea what BECON TV was but my friend Jordan did and he mentioned something called school dual (I have no idea what that is) but the BECON guy mentioned something about it too so I thought that was cool!     I nitially, he delved into production essentials, like the one-third rule and lighting, providing insightful details that clarified doubts for myself and some classmates. Another topic he touched on was the shortcuts competition, where students craft a trailer based on a given theme within six hours, adhering to specific guidelines such as shot angles and title fonts. Although I find film intriguing, I probably won't be doing that because I have NO time on my hands and I’...

🖼️Color use🖼️

Image
HEEEEEeEYYYYYYY…so today were gonna be talking about colors…AGAIN! Yeah I know it can be repetitive, but its really important anyways, since we already kinda talked about my characters costuming its time to talk about Fernandidito’s characters colors! This is what he’s gonna be wearing: Athletic Physique: - His muscular physique is highlighted by the snug fit of the black compression shirt, emphasizing his muscles and body contours. - In contrast to the casual gray sweatpants, the cargo pants in the image impart a more polished appearance to the scene. - The addition of a gleaming chain above the dark shirt adds depth to the character's persona, enhancing his presence. Socially Reserved: - Opting for black attire and compression wear may suggest a preference for functionality and practicality over fashion trends, aligning with the stereotype of a loner who values substance over superficiality. - The choice of clothing reflects a prioritization of efficiency, comfort, and functiona...
