🎬Transitions 🎬

Welcome back besties! Today we will be reviewing the different types of transitions that can be used in film. First we are going to look at the…

~ Dissolve ~

This video clip shows My friend, Jordan (an amazing actor), saluting and then getting slapped. A dissolve was used to show his patriotism and his willingness to take a hit for his country 🇺🇸. The dissolve transition is able to show both Jordan and the American flag at the same time showcasing their relation to each other and well as adding a comedic effect.

~ Fade to white ~

This shows my friend Jordan once again, but this time he trips over himself like a big bafoon. Then gets knocked out, and has a fun dream where he is rich and throwing money around like it’s nothing. The fade to white really helps drive this home because it showcases the fact that the whole shot that was taken after the fade was a dream and not real.

~ Match Cut ~

`

This cut is used to show the transition of two different settings with an almost seamless transition. As the camera tilts up towards the sky there is a hidden cut. Then, The camera tilts down to show a different location but as it tilts down, its starting point is extremely similar to the ending point of the last shot.

Now this one is extra, but I thought we had to create more then 3 so I felt like it would be a waste to leave it out…

~ Swipe ~

This transition really gives me powerpoint presentation vibes, but to be honest I think it came out pretty good, but this transition was able to show the change in scene through the use of a car, but because the irst shot is taken in the day light and the second shot is taken in the dark it really emphasizes the change in time and setting.
