🤓Classmate Critique🤓

Hello Again Viewers, today in class we had the opportunity to look at our classmates blogs. I decided to look at my friend Makayla Bodies blog along with my other friend Fernando Coronels Blog. Both of them did an amazing job at showcasing the different camera shots and angles we learned in class. And here is what I have to say to my fellow bloggers…

Makayla Bodie:

  • POV Shot: “I loved the goofiness of the POV shot, the fact that it was in a point of view angle including the camera mans hand made it seem more life like. It genuinely made me laugh.”
By incorporating the POV shot, the audience was able to get your point of view of the subject like you said. This really made the whole experience a lot more funny because it feels more personal and interactive.
  • Tilted Shot: “I also loved the tilted shot because it is really offsetting and really accomplished accomplished its goal of disorienting the viewer. It kind of makes the actor seem like they are insane.”
Because you had the camera at a dutch angle it immediately offset the viewer because we are not use to seeing things at a tilted angle like that. As you said in your post, “it creates an uneasy feeling” and I would 100 percent agree.

Fernando Coronel:

  • High Angle: “I loved your high angle shot, it really encapsulated the subjects isolation. And showed the beautiful scenery surrounding him.”
This shot was beautiful because it captured the greenery in the background as the character was walking through the school campus, it really showed how alone the subject was as well. As you said, “It creates a sense of a new environment” and I think you did a really good job at creating one.
  • Master Shot: “I loved your master shot because it showed the entire fight, and it moved around with the subjects as they were fighting.”
This shot really reminded me of a recording of a school fight. Which would make sense because it is a master shot which should be a seamless shot and it really showcased all of the action in the fighting and you did a really good job. I love how you also said that it showcases the scene around them and I would also have to agree.
